Me in Concentrate
A Indian/Japanese combustion living in Dubai for the last 6 years. (It was supposed to be 1 year!!) The desert here does rock, somewhat ... except it's way too crowded with Jumeirah Janes, ignorant driver traffic and fog when it just should'nt happen.
Am I homesick? Not sure where home is supposed to be yet, though Dubai is the longest I've stayed anywhere.
I miss waves breaking at Dog Beach in Perth, I miss eating spicy lamb fried rice served in your car in Jakarta that only opens at 4am, I miss walking up to the crisp smell of snow.
Time flies like an arrow but fruit flies like a banana. I want to sip malt whiskey in every city. I used to be proud that I was drunk in most cities in the world, though now I realize it's just vain. Keep shellfish away from me. If they make great dirty martinis there, you'll never go there alone. I loved once but realize I can't trust myself. I'm learning to let go of baggage, not even the excess ones. Miss my sister like crazy (as she "lawyers" the streets of NYC), my parents more and more as I grow, and wish I learned to play trumpet when I was younger.
Besides all that, life's just dandy.
